Former World No.9, British Number One & Three Time National Champion.
James is a former full-time professional athlete for JudoScotland & Great Britain Team Member for 15 years.
After over 6 years with the club James has recently moved to Canada to fulfil the role of Technical Director/Coach of Judo Ontario and Judo Canada Regional Training Centre (RTC) Coach in Toronto. He will be missed by all pupils and colleagues and we wish him all the best.
James was 2 x Olympic Reserve (Beijing 2008 & London 2012)
TeamScotland Member & Bronze Medalist at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Over the years James has amassed a wealth of experience and technical knowledge of the sport. These factors, combined with his enthusiasm and passion for judo, are essential to creating a positive environment for children to experience the sport he fell in love with nearly 30 years ago.
The opportunity to coach and inspire the next generation of talented athletes led to the decision to found Active Judo, along with his brother David.
He is a UKCC Level 2 qualified coach, holds current PVG, PCS, First Aid In Sport and Safeguarding & Child Protection.
